My husband has been twice now to this clinic. Nancy looked after him the first visit. She is excellent at her work, always doing her job with a smile. Nancy is a real gem. Last night Ed had his second visit with Bridget looking after him. She was very warm, happy and excellent at her job. These two women made it a very pleasant experience each time. I would highly recommend this clinic.

For the overnight study, I only have one complaint. I arrived at 8 to fill out paperwork. The tech took me to my pleasant, comfortable room, and offered to answer any questions. He then left me to go set up another patient and told me he would be back in "a little while". I know it takes about an hour to get all the electrodes attached, etc, but I usually go to bed around 9 so I figured that would be fine. I was left until at least 10 with no idea of how to get in touch with him or anyone else. I finally went into the hall and started calling out to get someone's attention.

For the daytime test, my rating drops to 1 star. The test lasts from 6am to 4 pm and you're expected to remain in the room except for trips to the bathroom or a walk in the short hall. You're not allowed into the foyer or even to stand outside the back door due to some kind of privacy issue. In my room, I was expected to spend the day sitting in an office chair with no arms and very little back. You're not suposed to sit on the bed as you're supposed to stay awake except for the naps that are part of the test. I complained that the chair was uncomfortable and they found me an office chair with arms. As I was leaving, I noticed that the 2 other patients were in rooms that had large padded recliners.

If you don't have comfortable seating for a 10 hour test, you have no business putting someone in that room.

I was very impressed with the facilities and staff when scheduling. However, when I finished and found out it was going to take 7-10 business days for results, I was a little disappointed. I had a sleep study done at another facility a few years ago and had the results the same day. I do understand that the original study (split night study) I had scheduled could not be done because of insurance. Now, I assume I will have to go back for a second study and wait another 7-10 business days after to actually get a CPAP to help me. Again, the staff is very friendly, just disappointed in the wait time between studies.

I have been on CPAP for a number of years and can’t sleep without it. My machine recently broke and I needed a new study to receive new equipment. When I arrived I was shocked to see no notices of the facilities Covid precautions being a medical facility. Especially because they did not require a Covid test prior to the study. The tech who greeted me (an older lady) asked why I had arrived so early. I was about 30 minutes early for my appointment not being super familiar with the area I didn’t want to risk being late. I must’ve interrupted her dinner as there was a strong food odor and she seemed annoyed that I had arrived. There is only one bathroom which all patients share and it smelled of urine. They do not enforce masks, you’ll see both staff and patients up and about without it. I received my equipment but will go to another facility in the future.

Recently my CPAP machine died. I have used mine for nearly 20 years. Per Medicare rules I was required to have a current sleep study.

I must say my experience with Sleep Clinic was a highlight of the journey to obtain a new CPAP. I found the staff friendly, willing to communicate openly/honest and share status details. The actial sleep study went very smoothly. Again my technician was helpful, accomodating and professional.

Learnings
1. Ensure that your Personal DR completes necessary paperwork and it is complete. Be willing to contact both parties to ensure this info is shared between both parties. You may think it should just all work quick anx easy...it does not. Get involved and drive the effort. Calling is ok but in person status visits will work better.

2. Once paperwork is complete then scheduling and doing study was quick to schedule and complete.

3. Realise that this journey to replace hour CPAP is not a day or week long effort. It will take weeks. Medicare and insurance extends what should be a short easy thing to a seemingly marathon. But stay kind and stop by and they will share where things are. Once study is done it has to go back to your DR for review and signature. So again jump in and ensure this task is done. Finally, the study is passes to Sleep Remedies for the equipment side of the journey.

I have had 3 sleep studies in 20ish years. Sleep Clinic did a great job for me. Big thanks to Logan and Gald! Office staff were great as well.

Stay persistent, kind and clear in communication and you will enjoy your new CPAP as the gold at the end of this rainbow.
