Reserved 2 rooms 6 or more weeks ago. When checking in they didn't have the rooms I reserved. So I was given two other rooms. No AC in room, no TV remote. Took them more then 20 mins., to check us in and they never did find my reservations. And yes I had the confirmation number but that was absolutely useless to the 2 people the checked us in. Needless to say they were let go the following day. To be far the hotel is in the middle of changing owners. I just wish they had been more organized. The bartender/hotel worker the follow day was wonderful. I wish I could remember her name. Thank you for helping us out. Now as for the hotel it is an old bar n hotel. No Elevator only stairs, lots of stairs. You will get your work out. Sad that the restaurant was closed due to switching of ownership. One main reason I picked to stay there. It was very warm Friday and Saturday night that we stayed. A/C would of been so much appreciated. We did survive. Just hope things get all worked out soon for this place cause it is so cute but remember it is an older building and modern amenities are not common in this hotel/bar. We were okay with that. The town is absolutely cute very small and we enjoyed our selves non the less.

This is a cheap and comfortable place to sleep. It resides on the Main Street of a small town steeped in history, having been incorporated in the late 1800’s and existing long before that. Your expectations should be for a comfortable bed and bedding, with the basic amenities needed to sleep, shower, go to the bathroom and facilitate the rest of your plans.

This is not a resort or destination hotel, unless (like me) you’re into the fact that the building and town it’s in is over 120 years old. We stayed here, in rooms 10 & 11 (joined rooms) with 5 people while attending Silverwood. We were exhausted each day and came back to sleep and get comfortable in a quiet room and got exactly what we were looking for.

It was clean, had a bathroom and access to several community bathrooms, soft sheets and comforter, a mattress that didn’t give me body aches, window A/C in both rooms, and enough outlets to plug chargers into.

For the price it can’t be beat. I loved the character of the place. There’s a small parking lot behind the building or you can use the ample street parking. Many small shops and restaurants on the Main Street which were all nice too. Set your expectations accordingly and you’ll have no complaints.

Expect more than you’re paying for and something other than what is clearly described and you’ll be predictably disappointed. But that’s a you problem, ain’t it 😉

I would say that for the money it’s best choice around. Yes, there was no bathroom in the suite - but I knew that before booking. Bedding was descent, I’ve slept like a log and pretty much enjoyed my stay. If you’re expecting more luxurious experience - be ready to pay 150$+ for +- same room somewhere else. I truly believe this place pricing is unbeatable.

TLDR: cozy, quiet, budget friendly, updated, private and shared bathrooms, possibly haunted.

We picked Silverwood for our family vacation this year. The obvious choice was to stay at a hotel in Coeur d’Alene. However, due to the fact that we would really only be in the room to sleep and shower, we decided to look for a more budget friendly hotel.

We are big on cost to value and boy does White Horse hotel deliver. This hotel cut our hotel budget by 2/3 of what we were looking at in the big city and this hotel is much nicer! It’s not fancy by any means, but when I say nicer, I mean it had a more personal touch and experience. The towels aren’t that industrial scratchy white, they were a coal grey color to match the updated bathrooms, and so soft. No scratch single ply tp. The bedding was probably my favorite part. The sheets and blankets were so very soft. I had such a good sleep after a very long day at the theme park. The beds were fine. It’s starting to slouch on the middle so might need to be replaced soon. But that’s okay, you can just snuggle with your hunny. Although the units were only equipped with window AC units, they got the job done. We booked two rooms. 10 and 11 because they can be conjoined which was what we wanted for our family. We did get to see many of the other rooms and they are lovely and cozy as well (see pics).

This is a very old building and the new owners are working on updating the rooms and bathrooms. But keep in mind that most of the rooms do not have their own private bathroom, they have a shared bathroom. The bathrooms are really nice and updated though.

Like every hotel I’ve ever stayed at, this one is by no means perfect but there are a couple of reasons this hotel might not be right for you….
1) there is not an elevator at all. It’s three floors and it’s all stairs. If you have trouble with stairs or mobility issues that require an elevator, this isn’t the place for you.
2) You are not a fan of the paranormal. Yeah, it’s haunted. It’s an old building so of course it is. We fortunately (unfortunately?) did not get a visit from Big Girl (Mama Jo). But if you book a room on the second floor, you may have a better chance at an encounter.

I can’t speak much to the staff here as the only interaction we really had was with the General Manager Kendall. He was very kind and happy to show us around and up to our room. He even left us with his personal cell phone number in case we needed anything during off hours.

There is a bar connected to the hotel, but it’s separate by a jail cell looking wall. Don’t worry, you won’t be kept up all night by bar patrons or anything of the like, we hardly ever saw anyone during our stay here, let alone bar patrons.
Overall our stay was great.

For the price we paid, we got 10 times the value we expected! We will always come back here any time we’re visiting this area. I hope you give it a try and that you also love and appreciate the rich history of the building/area as well as the cozy ambiance.

We booked a room with two double beds and a private bath at the White Horse saloon while planning a trip to Silverwood. When we arrived, the saloon (and hotel?) were under renovation and the owner had accidentally double-booked our room as a result of being between two different online booking systems. To make up for the mistake, he offered us two adjacent double rooms with shared baths AT NO CHARGE! The rooms were quaint, cozy and clean with comfortable beds and a two full sets of towels in each room. Bathrooms were spacious and clean as well. The owner had also just installed new deadbolts on the doors (although there was only one plug in each room, which was required to run the air conditioner). After leaving, I discovered that I had left my iPad behind and the owner offered to mail it to me (which he did so within a week). It is a bit out of the way (in a very small western-style town about 30 minutes from Silverwood) but was worth the trip. I would absolutely stay here again!

Be prepared for comfort, tranquility, and shock. I was expecting your usual cheap uncomfortable rooms and was more than pleasantly surprised. I truthfully thought this would be added to the never again rooms but I was so wrong. 10/10 will stay here again!

Can't really say enough nice things about this place. The manager Kendall was truly accommodating and the service was amazing. We rented two adjoining rooms, stayed two nights, and had little ones with us. I wasn't sure at first about staying upstairs at a saloon with little ones, but not only did it not matter, we all felt like family for those two days. The remodeled rooms were super comfortable and the showers were awesome. We wanted for nothing. It was a fantastic experience and we'll be back when we get the chance.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our road trip and we’d absolutely come back!

The bedroom was fresh, bright, and super clean. Very comfy bed and pillows. Was thrilled with the high-powered ceiling fan. The only thing some folks might not be into was the thin curtain which made it quite bright in the morning but that didn’t bother us as we like the morning sun and had to be up early anyways.

The shared bathroom was spotless and the shower was amazing. Some of the best hotel bath products I’ve used!

The bar/restaurant side is a really cool slice of history with the lobby featuring historical write ups of the location. The bar had a wide variety of drinks and cheap beer.

Overall, this seems to be a great gem of a spot with friendly staff and we’d happily stay here again.
