I arrived at Ascension Saint Vincent's Blount ER at 10am, Thursday May 1st, 2025 with severe stomach pain. I was received by triage nurse Linnette and treated by RNs Sue and Kevin, who gave phenomenal bedside service. I'm a hard stick but Kevin had me on the first go. They had me in and out of CT within the hour, the results of which were back and conveyed to me within 25 minutes. It was Appendicitis. I spent most my time with Sue who started her shift at 4pm and didn't leave me until the ambulance arrived at about 9:45. The doctor was Grace who diagnosed & explained the Appendicitis. All were cordial, polite, had warm bedside manner and managed my pain completely until I could be transferred. Grace explained my options for transfer clearly and concisely and following her advise I went on a wait list for St. Vincent's East, opting to stay in the hospital's network. My ambulance arrived around 9:45pm that night. The EMS professionals that arrived were attentive and compassionate. The driver, Jason, showed a remarked calmness but his driving displayed a sense of urgency, leading me to trust my care in their hands even though they had spent the night navigating severe thunderstorms and hail- as these were clearly men who took their jobs very seriously and were dedicated to getting me to the hospital who could treat me in one piece. I arrived at St. Vincent's East at 10pm. I would say overall every person I met at this hospital took their jobs seriously and I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I was that they not only treated me with kindness and professionalism but they managed my pain until I could be delivered into the hands of a hospital equipped to handle my surgical needs. This is a stark contrast to how this hospital operated just 10 years ago and I'm thrilled to be the one to tell you this is a place you can trust

Everyone I dealt with was friendly. But the person who did my mammogram and bone density tests went above and beyond. She was warm and friendly and funny. She mad an uncomfortable procedure stress free and I have already recommended going there to my coworkers.

This hospitals emergency room is amazing,the nurses were very exceptional.but the 2nd shift doctor was rude and didn't bother to check on me but the rest of the staff was magnificent!

Staff there are very professional, kind and care about the people who come in there office. Dr. Akers is the best doctor I have ever had. Even those he is busy, he takes his time finding out what the problem is. Has a great bedside manner. Thanks you guy’s for all you do

I literally brought my husband here for an ER visit and didn’t hear the security guard say no vapes. He asked me to throw it away and I said that was ridiculous I wasn’t throwing it away and proceeded to walk outside to place it in my truck and he told my husband I wasn’t allowed back in the hospital. This place is ridiculous for this. I can promise you I would rather die than to ever come back to this place.

My husband Lowell was admitted to 21 day rehab. Everyone was awesome. He had great care the whole time he was there. The nurses were great the Doctor very knowledgeable and rehab people were great. Dietary people were also very good. I would recommend St. Vincent Blount to anyone for great medical care. The PCT were amazing they took such great care of my husband.Thanks again for such great treatment

I can't say enough good things about the staff and care I received at Ascention St. Vincent's Blount. Upon walking in the door, I noticed the cleanliness of the facility. I was welcomed immediately by the check in staff. Since I was offered an opportunity to pre-register via email, the process took less than 5 minutes.
A short walk down the hall to Outpatient Procedures and I was met by a warm and kind RN.
The nurse fully explained the procedure, then another kind nurse started my IV and within 20 minutes I was off to the procedure room.
Again, I was met by kind, caring nursing staff that made sure I was comfortable and I fully understood what was about to occur.
My procedure was completed and I was ready to go home in 45 minutes.
From the moment I walked in the door until I got into my car to leave, I was surrounded by a kind and caring staff who's only focus was serving me, my comfort level, my health, and my time.
It was the best experience I have ever had at a hospital.
