But I thought was a huge setback in my life turned out to be one of the greatest experiences that I can remember.

The stroke I had a week ago Had my left side Uncoordinated and extremely weak.

The therapy team went to work on me with the utmost knowledge, care and encouragement.

Let this facility be your first choice if it is among your options for rehabilitation.

The nursing staff, All doctors, The administrative staff and Therapists gave me everything I needed to succeed.

God bless them all!

Doing my rehab at UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital has been an awesome experience. The facilty is first rate. All of the staff are highly trained, very helpful, extremely professional and are available to assist you in any way. I was impressed by the spacious private room, with bathroom and shower. The ability to adjust my own room temperature was a plus as I like to have my room cooler. I was here the day after a complete right hip replacement in the main UC Davis Hospital. The nursing took great care of me when I arrived and that quality of care continued until my release. Kudos to all of the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Staff for all of their hard work helping get to my goal of "being healthy enough to go home with the ability of having a lot of independence". The facility itself is always clean, having all of the equipment a person needs to recover. I would highly recommend this rehab hospital for anyone that needs rehab from an injury, surgery, stroke or brain injury. This hospital and staff exceeded all of my expectations.

I'm a 75 year old female, and had a hip replacement. I wasn't going to go to a rehab place, but I had a few other problems come up, so I wasn't able to go home. I'm so glad I went to UC Davis Rehab, because the place is absolutely wonderful. The nursing staff is first rate. The facility is very clean, and new. The physical therapists are very knowledgeable, and great to work with. Diffinetely rate a 5

Five star facility, staff, medical staff. The therapists are very thorough and met me with a challenge when I asked for it. I had a stroke in November 14th and when I left here I was able to walk without any Walker or wheelchair. Very effective. Even the food staff came took care of me really well. Again I don't think I could find anything to improve on the experience

I recently had the misfortune of visiting a loved one at this hospital, and I was appalled by the behavior of some staff members.

Rudeness and Lack of Compassion
Unfortunately, many staff members, including some RNs, CNAs, and doctors, displayed a shocking lack of compassion, empathy, and kindness. Dr. Stone, in particular, was extremely rude and unprofessional. His behavior was unacceptable, and he seemed completely disconnected from his patients' needs and feelings.

Exceptional Care from Unexpected Sources
However, I did encounter some exceptional individuals who went above and beyond to provide care and kindness. The janitor was incredibly loving and caring, often checking in on the patient and offering words of encouragement. The security team was also friendly and helpful.

Room for Improvement
Overall, my experience at this hospital was disappointing, and I hope that the administration takes steps to address the behavior of some staff members. Patients and their families deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Recommendation
Until significant improvements are made, I would caution others to carefully consider their options before choosing this hospital.

I spent an (allotted) two weeks here post a 7mo stay in the burn ICU at the UCD burn center up the road. I cannot find a single thing wrong to say about my treatment. At the the end of my two weeks, I was not quite independent enough to be discharged and the staff advocated on my behalf to insurance to be extended a week, twice! I went from not being able to stand on my own or walk 10ft unassisted to walking 500 meters and pulling myself wherever I needed. Just amazing care and attention given to focus on basic daily needs. Was originally destined to be sent to a SNF(skilled nursing facility), and I can’t imagine I would be equipped with the same level of care to propel me into the level of normalcy I enjoy now without the care of the PT/OT- nursing I received here. Chad, Jason, Sean, Kirstin, and the unnamed and amazing nursing staff were and continue to be life changers.
