Express care is great and the whole team is wonderful. 3 stars because my primary care Dr. Owens been out for awhile and scheduling system would say she’ll be back around a certain month but she never does. So they kept canceling my appointment and I have to keep rescheduling. Unfortunately I’ll have to change primary doctor.

My 4th time using this facility. Staff is always friendly. Physicians take their time to listen to your concerns and go trough them with you.
Kudos 👏

So, Dr. Crawford is amazing and I always feel heard when I talked about my health issues that just have been overlooked by myself or other doctors. I came by for an unexpected appointment for a persistent cold. I saw Dr. DJ. I do not recommend at all. He’s that stereotypical doctor you hear about that mom shames for breastfeeding your child at one year old. The guidelines recommends to two years. I even emailed my child’s pediatrician telling her another pediatrician told me this.. she said she was so sorry, but I’ve been misinformed. I’ve been through a lot the last two years and Dr DJ pretty much told me to suck it up. That giving me “drugs” won’t solve my problems. A psychiatrist won’t be able to help me with my inner issues and I’m the one holding myself back. That I’m going to end up killing myself and then who’s going to take care of my kids. He said that I haven’t been helping myself, which is very odd as it’s the first time we met and I’ve been getting the right help after my abusive divorce ended. I think this guy took one look at me and saw “fatty” which I am overweight, but honestly a San Diego average if not one size less. This guy was like 3x my size and told me to walk one hour per day. Yet, funny how I do exercise and I have an eating disorder of not eating enough food, but go ahead doctor. I thanked him multiple times, because it reminded me of horrible people in this world who just are cruel because they are miserable. Misery loves company, but not me. I’m still pushing and don’t need some toxic Hispanic advice like if it’s okay to give because I’m also Hispanic. I shook his hand and cried, because my god. This is what we have to offer in the healthcare system? What about patients who have a mental crisis? Please call the actual lines and see real doctors. Im not crazy or hurting myself, but he made it seem like im killing myself, yet said my BP was great and healthy and good job on losing weight. Very hypocritical.
Anyways, do what you can to see dr Crawford. She’s an amazing dr and I give her 5 stars. I give DJ 2, for his free “psychotherapy” session.

I have visited this clinic 5-10 times for myself and my children for primary care and express care (with and without appointments). We have always had a welcoming, accommodating and friendly experience here. I am acknowledged upon entering which is rare at so many medical offices (sadly).
The triage is quick and thorough and the doctor's always come in in a timely manner. I have had great experiences with all the providers we've met with. I will continue to come here and recommend this location to others.

We visited on a Sunday morning. We were able to make an appointment online and get seen the same day. Everyone on the staff was very nice, friendly and caring. Everywhere from the waiting room to the patient rooms were clean and organized. Definitely will be using this location for future urgent care visits.

This is not a warm, welcoming type of doctor’s office. More like a soulless, robot operating system. As a person with ADHD and a small child (that I needed to bring with me for my appointment), it is usually more difficult to be on time. I don’t mean it as an excuse, but that’s what it is. I was 11 minutes late, max 12 minutes. I put a lot of effort to make this appointment. The receptionist told me, the doctor won’t see me, and their policy is max 10 min late. I understand the policy and everything, but sometimes a little kindness wouldn’t hurt. She rescheduled my appointment for in 4 months… On top of that, there wasn’t even one time, I wouldn’t wait forever for the doctor to come in, so I don’t get why 2 minutes makes such a difference.

What an awful experience. The physician I saw was Gina was literally in the room with me for a total of 4-5 minutes. She mostly looked at her computer, asked a few questions and told me there wasn’t much she could do. The robotic nature of that interaction is not what I expected from UCSD. I’ve always held UCSD in high regard as I’ve had great experiences with my care within UCSD. She definitely lacked the warmth and compassion of a UCSD provider.

Nurse Stephanie and the staff at Express Care UCSD in Chula Vista were excellent. I was able to make an appointment ahead of time and didn’t wait too long to be seen. I was in and out in about 45 minutes and felt like my concerns were well taken care of. I especially like that they had an x-ray machine so I could get testing and results asap without having to go elsewhere.
