When I came to Dr. Ugo, I was on the completely wrong cocktail of medications. The original prescriber had quit suddenly and her replacement continued me on the same regiment. I was new to medication so I didn’t know that a lot of how I’d been feeling was because I was on the wrong medicines. I couldn’t sleep or slept too much, I felt sick to my stomach all the time, gained weight, and still struggling with anxiety. Dr. Ugo really took time to listen to me. She slowly got me off all those meds and helped me find which ones were actually going to make me feel better. My anxiety is under control. I’m not struggling to fall asleep for the first time in maybe my entire adult life. I feel well rested in the morning and I’m on the lowest dose of one medication rather than a relatively high dose three different ones. I really owe her a great deal of gratitude. Thank you, Dr. Ugo!

She was 4 minutes late to the appointment and appeared without an apology. Cut me off at the 50 mark without even pretending to be listening. Tried to recommend meds within 20 minutes and didn’t even care how I felt about considering medication again (I had been on them for over 14 years previously, stopped due to insurance, and have been doing well overall for the past 5 years). Generally not a considerate feel and openly got frustrated when I didn't understand her question of "Are you ready to start treating your condition?" I have been treated since 7 and use many strategies as an adult. She tsked and explained that I NEED meds to get my life under control, even though I’m happy. My last therapist raved about how well I was doing to her colleagues after working with her for over 6 months. Yet Ugo gave me the impression she thinks I'm out of control and need meds stat to start treatment because I dated a boy for a month and broke up with him because he was unstable. All within 30 minutes.

All in all, not a good experience, and Ive been going to therapy off and on since diagnosed. If you’re looking for a therapist who openly displays empathy and connects, keep looking
