I came into the ER two days ago for severe nausea, stomach pain, and dehydration. Thankfully, I came at a good time. I was taken right back. I have always come to Milford Hospital because I had faith that staff truly cared. Unfortunately, things have definitely changed. My nurse (Sarah H.) was wonderful! Since UMass has taken over, theyāve now become a teaching hospital, which I have no problem with. Due to this, I saw 2 wonderful nursing students, a PA student, but no doctor! A PA quickly came in to tell me they had ordered tests, but never told me why. I never saw him again. During my 4 hour stay, I received the fluids I needed, but was NEVER told the results of my tests. My nurse came in to tell me that I was being discharged. (I then assumed my tests were good?) When asked, my nurse finally went over them with me. I was discharged before I was checked in on by anyone, other than my nurse. It was as if nobody but her truly cared. I knew I was going to be back.
Fast forward two days to today. Iām back because Iām still really sick. This time it is busier and I was just called in, after 4 hours of waiting. I understand medical priorities, but while waiting Iāve seen many walk out. Some had waited 5 hours yesterday, were never seen, and came back again to just be disappointed. A little girl and her mother came in right before me, had an x-ray on her arm and is still waiting for resultsā¦in the waiting room. A gentleman was brought in by ambulance right after me, with a work injury to his leg (bleeding). Heās still in the waiting room in a wheelchair, where the EMTās placed him.
Iām praying this visit goes much better. I want Milford Hospital to be the same home-town hospital it always was. Iām not saying they are perfect..no hospital is..but I felt truly cared for and that I mattered.
Two recommendationsā¦please clean your waiting room floor! It looks like it hasnāt been swept and washed in a while. And consider your littlest patients when putting tv shows on in the waiting room. National news can be scary and Divorce court, discussing oral sex and cheating is inappropriate. HGTV would work.

I stayed here for 4 days when I had the flu and pneumonia. The nurses here were all EXCELLENT. I, too, learned the "warm blanket" trick! And one nurse showed me how to mix ginger ale with cranberry juice to make a delicious drink. The only con was that the doctors were very rushed. I only saw a doctor maybe twice, and each time they were there for maybe 2 minutes, not really answering my questions. But I would 100% go back just because of the wonderful care of the nurses.

I feel an obligation to let the public know my story about this place. First of all this place needs to be shutdown for good. I went to the emergency room for sciatic nerve pain due to a herniated disk. My pain was at a 10/10 and I was suffering in agonizing pain. I could not function properly because the pain was so intense. I have never seen a ruder staff not just for a hospital but any place Iāve ever been to. At check in the front desk staff was getting upset because I couldnāt answer their million questions fast enough because I was in agony. The janitor got me a wheelchair (not the staff). I told the lady at the front desk not to wheel me in the waiting room with 40 people because I didnāt want to be around that many strangers while I was screaming in agony. She wheeled me directly where I asked her not to and she said āwell, I have nowhere else to put youā even though they did. She wheeled me to a private cubby in the same room and before she left she said āThere! Now youāre not facing anybodyā. And her tone of voice was as if my suffering was inconveniencing her. After about an hour a nurse called my name and brought me into a different room to take vitals ( Iām still in absolute agony) the nurse says āI know all about back pain and itās not as bad as youāre making it out to beā. I looked at her and said āyou know nothing of this pain and to be so disrespectful to someone who is suffering is unacceptable by a nurseā. They brought me back to the waiting room where the valet attendant who parked my car said āHey, I did you a favor by parking your car so I need you to stop being rude to our staffā. Everyone that I saw in this place MADE MY PAIN WORSE!! After 2 hours of waiting in this hell hole I made the decision to leave and suffer in the comfort of my own home. Being compassionate to people who are in pain and suffering is a very important part of healthcare, almost as important as being treated. All of the people I encountered in this place have no business working in a hospital and in my opinion should not be allowed to work in any setting that has anything to do with taking care of people. I have never felt so disrespected while I was suffering in a place that was supposed to help. If there are other people in this post who have had a similar experience please reach out to me as together we stand a better chance at exposing this place for what it really is. People should never be treated in such a horrible manner. Avoid this place and find better care!

The staff seemed disorganized and lacked clear communication with patients and their families. When I needed assistance for my mom, I asked multiple nurses for help, but it took an hour before anyone was able to assist us. Later, when we visited the hospital to pay the bill, the receptionists were not very helpful and seemed to have difficulty coordinating with their coworkers. We were sent to multiple locations in an attempt to find the right department for payment processing, only to wait 45 minutes at the door before being informed that the system was down and payments couldnāt be processed. Better communication among the staff would have saved us a lot of time and frustration.

Michelin 3 Star stay. I recently was admitted for a gall bladder problem. I have to say, the entire staff was pleasant, polite, and friendly. My ER experience was easily the best I've ever had, anywhere. The surgical team took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and answered all my questions in clear, layperson language. The facility was clean, and very well kept. 10/10. This is the only place I'll be going to for future emergency needs.

I just came from here for a minor procedure and everyone was so amazing. The nurses Erica and Lisa were so nice, such a cool way to make a warm blanket ladies thank you, the Anesthesiologists Dr. Purvis and Steve was amazing, Steve was so funny trying to calm my nerves and said my life is his number one priority. Dr.A was my surgeon, he made sure I had positive thoughts and made sure I was always comfortable. Thank you everyone. I truly appreciate you all.

Iāve been on both sides of the doors at Milford, from being a patient through the years, to recently working there for 2 years and back to being a patient. Iāve had many ups and downs at this hospital both working there and as a patient. But I do want to mention my visit today. Never have I had such caring staff take care of me. I went in for a very hard procedure (mentally and emotionally) and from the moment the staff at day surgery had called me and went over everything, to the CNA taking me to my āroomā to all the amazing doctors and nurses who talked me through everything and showed such empathy and compassion. Iām so blown away at how sweet and kind everyone was to me today. They made sure I was 100 percent taken care of and comfortable! Dr. Rohatgi is an absolutely amazing OB and was so kind to me, she did an amazing job with my procedure. Cheryl the pre admission RN was very kind and made sure I was doing okay the whole time. Torres, Barb, Lucas and Karen were also all amazing! And Lisa my discharge RN not only made me feel so comfortable, understood, and answered all my questions, but made it so my husband understood as well. I can not thank the staff today enough. I appreciate all of you š©µ

If I could give zero stars I would. This is not a hospital and should be shut down. I am shocked they haven't been shut down yet. I came in bleeding, had 10/10 horrible abdominal pain, dizziness, nausea etc. I waited in the waiting room for 9 hours. I asked for something for the pain and was refused multiple times until one nurse gave me Tylenol which made my pain worse. Finally, I was taken back after 9 hours of waiting to a bed that was in the HALLWAY. After 12 hours of waiting with nothing for the pain (I am still bleeding) I finally saw a doctor who spent less than 2 minutes talking with me. One nurse saw me for an update during this time to take my vitals. After seeing the doctor, I was put on an IV for fluid which took an hour to set up. She sent me for one test that showed nothing and then sent me home with two prescriptions while I was still bleeding and in pain. One for acid reflux, which I DONT EVEN HAVE. The other one for nausea which is ONE symptom out of many. It took 2 hours of waiting to be discharged. During these 2 hours I asked over 8 people to take out my IV so I could get dressed to not lay half naked in the hallway anymore and they all refused saying they were busy. My fluid bag was empty, and I was being 'discharged'. ALL 8 nurses were sitting at their desk on Instagram or gossiping to one another. They were extremely rude to my boyfriend who asked a second time for me telling me to wait for my doctor - who never came to see me again because I WAS BEING DISCHARGED. Finally, after 2 hours one of them came over and took out my IV and sent me home. They were extremely rude and hurt my arm. The whole time I was at the hospital I was crying my eyes out and no one did a single thing or even asked what was wrong. Everyone ignored me in the waiting room and passed by my bed in the hallway. I am from Canada and I have been to hospitals for random things across the world and never have I been treated with such abuse. I even went to a hospital for an overnight stay in Zimbabwe (a developing country in Africa) and my care there was 110% better in Zimbabwe than it was here at Milford Regional Medical Center. I have photos of me in the hallway and will be sending in an official complaint to have this place shut down -- they should not be allowed to see patients.
