Restrooms need help but still 2 Thumbs Up p!! I've been to other MA hospitals but my first visit here could not have been more positive. The weather itself seemed to match everyone's sunny disposition...

A special Thank You ⭐ to the lab receptionist who was kind enough to take Dracula from his perch so I could take a picture & to the lab tech who found a vein before I could blink.

People are going to complain naturally because it is a hospital and are typically going through stressful situations but out of the 5 other hospitals I've been at in Mass this is hands down the best one. It is the cleanest, has the best staff, best cafeteria, and some of the best doctors nurses and surgeons out there. Very high performance healthy people. When you stay here and you notice most of your doctors and nurses are very healthy and intelligent it's a good sign. Wonderful diversity of many different nationalities and cultures come together in this hospital and serve the patients well

Brought my husband to the ER and from parking guys to the doctors we had the best treatment and care. I am thankful for the nurses and doctors, residents and students who took the time to listen and follow the clues to find the right diagnosis to treat him. I wish I have better words for the appreciation I feel for all of you.

Nothing but a big business money hungry corporation that treats patients like inmates. I lost my secondary health insurance (covers copays)coverage for one day because of stolen identity and was thrown out of scheduled transplant appointment, while nurse was wondering why my blood pressure was super high, as if I was a piece of trash by Transplant Social Worker, thereby causing me to now have severe anxiety about going anywhere near Umass or other medical establishments ! I was not given an option to pay or be billed, they simply threw me out and told me I had to leave! Oh but they WELCOMED me back as soon as they saw my insurance was reinstated. More recently, I called transplant about a vitamin d deficiency(caused by my kidney disease)and my Transplant Coordinator angrily told me that I should call my primary care and not them, (although they performed my kidney transplant), as if I’m bothering her with my health problems, even though they are the kidney specialists. I’ve even heard transplant secretaries tell the transplant secretary I’m trying to reschedule or schedule an appointment with, to tell me to go elsewhere for care! I’m pretty sure you can get better and more compassionate care at cvs minute clinic! Just disgusting lack of care! What the hell happened to America’s healthcare!? 🤦🏻‍♂️COST OVER CARE AND PROFIT OVER PEOPLE! 😡

My 72 year old mother last night was kept in a hallway overnight after she was rushed by ambulance there when she was in extreme pain. After spending the night in the hallway they sent her home at 4am in an Uber because they couldn’t wait to discharge her at 6 when someone was awake to come get her. Keep I. Mind she was there in pain after a surgery they did. She is a past stroke survivor as well and they couldn’t even put her in a room and wait for a ride to get her. They sent her home in an Uber. What happened to patient care?

My dad was brought by ambulance from Heywood Hospital, Gardner MA to Umass Memorial Worcester MA on Father’s Day June 18, 2023. He stayed at UMASS for 21 days until his death on July 10, 2023. My mother was informed on day 12 of my dad's stay that it was cancer. We had 9 days left with him. We were told he would never leave the hospital and there were no treatments. We were told this news in a hallway amongst patients. No privacy. No dignity.

My dad, the strongest and toughest guy I know with a tattoo on his bicep that read “Death Before Dishonor” a tribute to his Army Reserve troop, began to be terrified while a patient at UMASS Memorial. I not only witnessed my dad slowly and painfully die, but I saw him lose his dignity and safety starting on July 2nd in a note he left in his phone after an incident involving hospital staff. But it wasn’t until a fall out of his bed with Nurse Maddi that showed me the hospital did not have staff or protocol in place that was in the best interest of their patients so my brother and I stepped up our presence to give my mom support in taking care of my father.

After experiencing the response from the hospital on reporting the fall to us, and a buildup of other experiences my dad was having, we began asking to talk to patient advocacy on July 3rd. After multi staff promises they’d be in touch, and then two urgent voicemails I left on July 7th, we received nothing. It wasn’t until a letter dated July 13, 2023, 3 days after my dads death in ICU 6th floor, that they could not be in contact with us.

Yet somehow I was able to receive two urgent calls 9 hours after my dad’s death from your affiliated organ donor center asking for us to consider donating his eyes. This hurt because it showed us some things are able to get prioritized.

Hospital would not release my dad's records and I wrote to the president of the hospital and he pushed patient advocacy on me instead.

This experience gave me PTSD and I'd rather die alone than in the care of this place.

Major thanks to Dr. Aulet and his team and everyone at UMass Memorial for the excellent care I received. Despite how understaffed everywhere is these days, I had very good patient communication and was well treated through two complicated surgeries. Very glad I decided to come here.

I recently had a test done and all the nurses, techs, and receptionist were so nice. The hospital was very clean, and we'll laid out. The directions in the hospital we're spot on. I didn't get lost at all. I would of giving 5 🌟 stars but the PARKING NEEDS HELP. Thank you all (except valet parking) for making my experience and test easier for me..
