I don’t have anything to compare UHS to, but overall it’s very hit or miss if you get good service (75% chance you get one of the shitty primary care or sports medicine doctors). Request Schick or Sullivan if you can— everyone else has a huge ego and is really condescending even if you have very obvious symptoms. They’re always quick to bandage up literally any ailment with antibiotics, which they charge you for sometimes. I think the nurses are pretty good overall though.

Had a horrible experience with extremely rude people not willing to even listen to problems I had. Earlier in September, I severely bruised my bicep to a level where it was spreading across my whole arm and became bluish in color. The lady at the front was extremely obnoxious and said they can’t do anything about it and only offered Tylenol. This is unacceptable. I am paying full tuition fees at BC and I expect services like this to actually do what they are supposed to be doing. I agree with the other comments that you should visit Urgent care. The one I recommend nearby is Physical One Urgent Care in Chestnut Hill as that is very nearby. They are in comparison much more polite and knowledgeable in what they are doing. Just a few days ago, I burnt my hand really badly when hot olive poly spilt on my hand and in an attempt to explain my situation, they cut the call. Firstly, I called them and they put on hold for 5 minutes and afterwards, they just cut the call as I was explaining what happened with my burnt hand. Extremely unprofessional and rude people and I will never come here ever again

I am extremely disappointed with UHS. I brought a friend who had previously been running a fever and was experiencing nausea, coughing, vomiting, lightheadedness, chills, and soreness. UHS refused to test him for anything, claiming he was “getting better.” The next day, he fainted, and when we returned to UHS, they continued to refuse testing and prescribed him amoxicillin. Over the following week, the antibiotic had no effect, and his condition worsened.

Then went to urgent care, in hope of some real treatment, where he was immediately tested for flu A, flu B, COVID, and RSV. He also received a chest x-ray, which revealed pneumonia in his left lung. The urgent care doctor noted that not only was the UHS prescription ineffective, but it was also insufficient. Additionally, my friend felt as though he was a burden to the UHS doctor, who appeared frustrated that he returned for help the day after she "treated" him.

I don’t mean to sound harsh, but UHS, this is unacceptable. You are responsible for the health of young adults, many of whom are far from home and their caregivers. We need to be treated with care, respect, and professionalism. Please do better.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had in my life. Staff was consistently rude and unhelpful. The nurses were very nice but I could not say the same about anyone else who works there. Went for my possibly broken foot and did not receive any of the care that I needed. Here’s my advice: skip UHS completely and go to urgent care if you have any health issues.

Charged 100 dollars for some medicine which can be bought for 10 dollars at CVS. Even with student insurance(80% coverage), it is a bad deal. DON’T go here if you have any other choices.

The phone staff here are extremely rude. I called into UHS to get my foot/ankle checked on after they were run over by a car and a very condescending woman on the phone told me there were no available appointments until the next day despite me telling her it was an emergency. I ended up going to urgent care that night instead and when I called back to UHS to cancel my appointment the same woman made a snarky remark that if I was cancelling my appt, the injury must not have been so bad after all.

Another recent encounter with the rude phone staff here happened when I called to book a flu test. They told me they did not have appointments available for the day I was calling, so I told her, "thank you, but nevermind," to which she didn't say anything, just hung up the phone straight away.

It feels like none of the staff want to work here. I’ve been passive-aggressively scolded for looking at documents that were right in front of my face (“that is PRIVATE INFORMATION. I HATE it when people do things like that”). The DOCTORS here are kind, amazing and do their job very well (caught the fact that I had an antibiotic-resistant strain of something), but the receptionist staff and some of the nurses are just rude and unprofessional. If you’re a BC student, go to UHS, they’ll treat you, but be prepared for dealing with the rude phone staff and the receptionists at the front desk.

Every experience I have with BC's UHS is terrible. I called about having COVID and they hung up on me. They are always incredibly rude, never answer your questions, and incredibly unhelpful. The worst part of Boston College 100%.
