Took my momma for her birthday. We both got the Getaway package (basic scalp and face massage) and it was amazing. More relaxing than anything I have gotten before. The staff were very pleasant. My specialist and my mom's specialist were both so attentive in making sure everything was okay. No scents were overwhelming and as big girls, we fit on the tables just fine. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be going back.

I was treated to Velvet Head Spa by my bf for my birthday since I had heard a lot about it on social media. I have been wanting a nice pampering day that included a scalp massage and upper back massage since I hold most of my tension in those areas.
When we got there it was somewhat hectic. I think it was a high velocity hour for them since customers were arriving and leaving, and workers were maneuvering to and from different rooms, all within the lobby area. However the workers were still pleasant despite the frenzy. I was shown to a waiting area where they showed me my scalp through a microscope camera and iPad. They mentioned that my scalp looked to be on the drier side, and I didn’t rlly question it. Then I went into my room where I had a 25min upper body massage, 25min facial, and 25min scalp therapy. The massage definitely helped with loosening up some tension, and I’m pretty sure I fell asleep sometime during the scalp portion of the appt since I barely remember it except from when I woke myself up with my hand sliding off the table.
However my 2 stars mostly comes from the facial portion of the appt. I’ve had a facial before from a tech who works from home (this was my first facial so she walked me thoroughly through the steps of the process). Usually the tech will ask your skin type and choose what products to use based off of that. However I noticed that didn’t happen here, at least during my appt at this location. For the record, my skin is on the drier and sensitive side. I usually double cleanse with oil + foam cleansers, and use ponds moisturizer as these are gentle and don’t irritate my skin. I wasn’t sure if my scalp consultation applied to my face skin type, but I felt the technician apply what seemed to be a cleanser, rinsed, and an exfoliator. This was around the time I started to fall asleep so I’m not sure if there was an additional mask applied just before the scalp treatment, but I had already started feeling some slight stinging on my cheeks from the cleanser and exfoliator. It was my fault for not speaking up, but I had grown up with the saying ā€œif it hurts it means it’s workingā€ so I was really hoping this was just part of the process. And then the exfoliator definitely agitated it more, that even when rinsing my face with water my face felt raw from the friction of the gloves/hands. I was banking on the moisturizer being my saving grace at the end of the appt. The technician mentioned that she’ll now be applying serum and sunblock/cream. The serum immediately stung my face, and the sunblock did as well. I know I should’ve said something at this point but I was pretty much ready to go home and soothe my face.
The blow dry afterwards was okay. I had to remind myself that this is a spa not a salon, so I didn’t expect the technicians to give a proper blowout since their primary focus is different from that of a hairstylist. I did bring my own roller brush since the website mentions customers are able to use the tools provided after their appt to touch up, but I wasn’t offered this service. And it did still look busy from what I could see in the hallway so I didn’t want to bother. It might be different at their other locations.
I was ready to pay and checkout when the receptionist asked if I had already seen my scalp after the treatment and I told her no. That’s when the receptionist from earlier came out and took me into the waiting room the show me my scalp again from the iPad/micro camera. I honestly didn’t see that much of a difference so I wonder if this is a gimmick. Checked out and bf paid $192 + 18% tip (since the only other option verbally given was 20% tip).
I really don’t usually write reviews like this. I’m all for supporting small businesses and pampering services. However I feel as though there are a few kinks that need to be straightened out here.
Btw, the pictures are 4 hours after my appointment finished. There was more redness prior to this, but the rash is still there. It still stings even when I use my own skincare products. Currently using hydrocortisone to help soothe it.

The experience was great. The hair wash and facial were great. My hair and scalp were clean.
I would have given a 5 star, but they didn't know what to do with my hair after the service. A blow dryer with a comb or brush would have helped with the semi blow dry they did. I have curly hair and could have left with it wet. The website did say that I could bring my own products (I did) and style my own hair, but that option wasn't given after, or before they tried to blow dryer my hair. I'll be back, I'll just definitely leave with me hair wet.

Loved my experience at the velvet head spa. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for some self care. The place is super cute. They offered complimentary mimosa while I waited for my massage. My facial and scalp massage was extremely relaxing. Thea did an amazing job. My before and after look at my scalp was a miraculous difference. So worth the price!

The entire experience for Velvet Signature service wasn't worth $192. The name of this spa also doesn't reflect the service entirely. I give a 3rd star only because the back massage was really good.

I came to the head spa because I wanted to get an analysis of my scalp and be more informed of the scalp health. The only time they did an analysis on me was at the arrival. They put me in this small waiting room and the man came to put the magnifying device on my hair to show me how my hair/scalp looked. He pointed out a few things and said the oil is getting built up at the root - that was it! Then, he sent me to the room to start the service.

The Velvet Signature service included: Basic Scalp Care, Facial Massage and Upper Back Massage. The service started off with the back massage and it was extremely good and relaxing. Then, they asked you to get up and flip over to the opposite side of the bed. This was very uncomfortable for me to do because my body already felt very relaxed and did not want to move during the session. They started with washing my face and then put the mask on. There was a mini face massage and it was nice for sure! I want to call out that this was not a facial; it was a mere facial cleansing and moisturizing. Then, they moved onto washing my hair and scratching my scalp. It maybe relaxing for some people with itchy scalps but it wasn’t relaxing to me. After this, they wrapped your hair and asked you to get dressed. They escorted you to the room near the spa entrance to blow dry your hair. My thin hair came out so flat that I hated it; there was zero volume.

Overall, it was a relaxing spa date with my mom but the service was not worth the price tag. And both of us caught some nasty cold at this spa too after spending $450+ plus tips because we both woke up the next morning sick 🤢 We are still fighting this cold as I am writing this review.

We had the 90 minute signature with scalp therapy, facial massage and upper back massage.
Was going back and forth between 2 and 3 stars but since my neck is actually hurting more than normally right now and I’m unhappy with my hair I’m going with 2 stars.
Plus first: I liked the facial massage and the facilities are nice and clean. Sadly that’s where it ends for me.
The scalp therapy literally felt like they’re ripping our scalps off. She scratched my scalp with her nails, my friends as well, which you really shouldn’t do in the first place and I was worried I’ll be having scratch marks afterwards. It felt like she’s scratching me raw. On top of it I have a lot of short hair (looks like breakage) now, which I definitely didn’t have before.
There as also a neck massage part while she was doing the hair, but that was more using shampoo as a lotion and my neck feels worse than it ever has after any massage,
So but now what was just too much for me on top of it all: I had to declare that I’m pregnant when I booked the appointments, which I obviously did. Turns out nobody cared. The lady at the check in didn’t say anything. I assumed the therapist is going to be prepared for it, but she basically just told me I can’t lay on my belly (ya don’t say lady) and to just lay on my side for the upper back part. I even told her ā€œit’s fine just skip that part thenā€ and she goes ā€œno no, just lay on your sideā€, so I did cause I figured that’s how they handle it.
Again also with the nails, I was literally prepared to tell my husband where the scratches came from, that’s how her nails hurt. Also side note: upper back means from your neck all the way down to the seam of your pants for them. Not quite ā€œupperā€ back for me.
On top of it the guy at checkout basically just told me when I paid that usually they don’t take that type of appointment with pregnant women, because it can be dangerous if not done by a professional massage therapist and get this, was giggling while he said it. So he ā€œwants to inform me for my next appointmentā€. Yeah, there’s not going to be another appointment. If they don’t take that type of treatment with pregnant women, then why didn’t anybody reach out in the 6 weeks after I booked that appointment.
Definitely not going back.
