The Physician and Staff at Vision Source in Oneonta AL. is absolutely outstanding! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and professionalism. The office is clean, modern, and well-organized. The staff and physician takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and makes sure you’re comfortable throughout the entire exam. The physicians knowledge, care, and attention to detail are top-notch. The staff is equally fantastic—friendly, efficient, and always ready to help with a smile. Love Dr. Harrison! Love his office staff. They are the best. Dr Harrison has been my Dr for many years. He always gets me in if emergency eye problem comes up. He is the best around! I promise you that!

First off I have to say that he quality of care here is good. The optometrist was great, he really seemed to care about my vision and was very thorough. I did leave this place with kind of a bad taste in my mouth though. Before my visit they told me that my insurance wasn't accepted here (OptiMed through my wife's job). I decided to go ahead and get contacts here anyway and then later I'd find another place in my network to get glasses since I needed something quickly so I could see at work. I asked them how much it would cost for the exam. They told me 72-102 dollars plus the cost of my new contacts. Maybe I'm wrong, but I got the vibe that they almost wanted me to say "nevermind I'll leave" once they found out my insurance would not work there. It was very strange. However I said that's fine, that's pretty much what I have paid with no insurance in the past so let's do it.

Well, I get finished up (nothing out of the ordinary, just a standard vision test, standard eye dilation and absolutely no extras) and I'm am in the office ready to pay, they told me the bill was 172 dollars. I asked why it was more than they quoted and they said it was for "contact fitting". I thought: ok... I slapped the contacts in myself, they didn't fit anything. I didn't need any instructions, I've been wearing contacts for almost 30 years. And the main problem is that they didn't tell me about this charge beforehand, what if I didn't have that much money? There was a reason why I asked how much it would be. Luckily I could pay it, but a lot of people might not be able to pay an unexpected amount after specifically asking how much they'd need to pay. I actually asked twice how much it was going to cost. Once before the visit and once again in the examination room. Also they didn't order contacts or give you a box of them right there like other places, they need you to come back after another week and a half for a follow up visit when I assume they'll either order them or give me some. So be ready to make that initial pair last and take care of them because you won't have backups for awhile. Hopefully they'll have some at the office so there won't be an additional wait for them to get shipped to me.

I want to stress that the care was fine, it's a very nice place and the people who work there are attentive and polite. I have no problem with the service I got and it might even be worth the extra money. The problem is that they didn't tell me about it when I asked before going through with it.
