I was seen by Dr. Liu throughout my pregnancy I had mixed feelings. On one hand he is a good doctor but very old school, he has a very low rate of sections which is a huge plus but he wouldn't allow me to have a doula which I had my heart set on which felt wrong- he told me I could find another doctor but I had already been seeing him for several months in and didn't feel comfortable going to search for another doctor.
When I tried to see if I could see another doctor in the practice who would accept the use of a doula they told me that generally they don't allow Doulas so I gave it up.
This was wrong information as there are doctors in their practice that recxomend the use of doulas.
Luckily everything was covered by my insurance which I was incredibly grateful for.
And I chose them because it's the same doctor that delivers you but because there were some great things and alot of not so great things I and giving 3 stars.

Before my first visit I had received instructions to upload previous lab results to patient portal. However the feature was not available. So I brought an electronic copy on my phone with me to the first appointment. When the MA found that I hadn’t uploaded it, she berated me, even though I explained that uploading to the portal didn’t work. When it was later explained that a patient cannot send anything to a doctor until after the first appointment, she didn’t apologize, just said “I’ve never seen that happen”. Then she gave me the doctor’s email address on a post-it to send the results, but she wrote the address in barely legible handwriting instead of printing it. My first attempt to send it came back as an error, eliciting more abuse from her. I finally managed to guess at the correct spelling and finally got the results sent.

My actual visit with the doctor went well, but that was about the only thing that did.

Based on that I decided to get my birth control shot done there, but that did not involve my doctor or her MA, but the main office staff. I told the MA who made the appointment when my previous shot had been. When I arrived for the appointment, I was told that I had to take a pregnancy test. I insisted that this was unnecessary because I had already received the shot previously, and I wasn’t going to pay for an unnecessary test. Planned Parenthood never asked me to take a pregnancy test before starting the shot. The staff told me to sit and wait, which I did for over 15 minutes. It was now 30 minutes after my appointment time, and I decided that I couldn’t afford any more time off of work. I was already losing out on 2 hours pay. I went to the window and told them it was taking too long and that I was leaving. Only then did they take me back, but only to give me the same response. I asked why it was necessary. The only response was “policy”. And they said they could have called Planned Parenthood to verify, but oh well, no one thought to do that in the two weeks before the appointment. It was disturbing to see that "policy" is more important here than medical care.

I was originally there to get a very nerve-wracking procedure, and the staff made sure that it was only more traumatizing.

I wish I saw the reviews on here before I made the appointment. If I did, I would’ve not come here. This is probably the worst medical visit I’ve ever had. The lady who works at the front desk is very rude and very unprofessional - treated me like I owed her money and I was disgusting or something. This hospital should consider hiring more friendly staff to avoid driving clients away. -1 star if possible.

I wish I could give them negative 5. Their billing is a big mass. It uses wrong codes to over charge you. Their doctors use general description for lab tests which allows their partner lab to do tons of unnecessary tests on you. If you like this place, you probably haven't realized how badly you have been exploited.
