Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has truly been a blessing for our family. From the moment we arrived, the care, compassion, and professionalism displayed by the staff were remarkable. They made us feel seen, heard, and supported during one of the most challenging times in our lives.

Our son has been receiving care in the NICU, and the level of dedication and expertise from the team has been beyond exceptional. The nurses and doctors work tirelessly, not only to address the immediate medical needs of their tiny patients but also to provide emotional support and reassurance to families like ours. They explained every procedure and step in detail, ensuring we were informed and at ease. Their ability to combine expert medical care with heartfelt compassion has been a source of great comfort to us.

Additionally, their care extended to addressing our baby’s thumb injury. The staff approached the situation with remarkable attentiveness, ensuring every detail was managed with precision. Their gentle touch, coupled with their proactive communication, helped alleviate our fears and gave us confidence that our baby was in the best hands.

What truly sets Pomona Hospital apart is their commitment to treating every child and family with individualized care. We’ve seen firsthand how much heart they pour into every aspect of their work, from monitoring our son’s progress to celebrating his small victories with us.

Thanks to their relentless efforts, our son has been making steady progress, and we’re forever grateful to the NICU team and the entire Pomona Valley Hospital staff. Their dedication, expertise, and kindness have made all the difference, and we are filled with hope because of their unwavering support. They have truly been our lifeline during this journey.

I came in to get a NST done. My water pockets were low. So after the test was done, the nurse called my OB to inform her on the test results. My OB decided not to let me go home that day and wanted me to get induced. Due to the low count of water pockets.
I was then transferred to labor and delivery. My night nurse was Mari and let me just say that she is an awesome nurse to have. Right when I got there she made sure I was comfortable. Unfortunately I was here at the hospital by myself. My husband had to stay home with our other little ones. But Mari kept checking up on me and would make me feel like I'm not alone. It was 7:10am and Mari was coming in with the day time nurse Jen. Jen was Mari's teacher when she first started. Jen was great. When I finally delivered my baby, Jen made sure I had a picture of my son's weight. She also asked me if I wanted a picture of me and my baby together. Since I was there alone, she made sure I had these remarkable memories to be able to look back at.
When it was time, I was then transferred to postpartum. My morning shift nurse was Rayma, such a sweet lady. She was awesome also. My night nurse was Elizabeth an Asian lady. Who was also great. When I had Rayma (morning nurse) and Elizabeth (night nurse) the both would make sure I had everything I needed. No matter what time it was, they would bring me food when ever I asked. Offer me teas if I did not want the medicine for the cramping. They both made me feel so comfortable with them. I'm so happy I had such amazing nurses. Not once did they make me feel uncomfortable or like if I was a bother to them (since I would keep asking for food).
I had such a great experience through out my labor and postpartum. I would definitely 100% recommend this hospital for pregnant women looking for a hospital to have their baby. Originally I was going to go to a different hospital to have my baby, but I'm glad I came here.
If Mari, Jen, Rayma, and Elizabeth ever read this. I want to say thank you ladies for such a great experience here at Pomona Valley Hospital. You guys are awesome and I will definitely miss you guys. ❤️

I had my baby here in the end of August and I am so glad I chose this hospital. Everyone I came in contact with was so kind and patient. All of my nurses were amazing! They made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. They checked in frequently and always introduced the next nurse when the shift changed. It was very busy couple days for everyone but I felt comfortable and supported throughout the entire process. Huge thank you to everyone!

I am now 27 days postpartum and in a good position to reflect on my experience here.

Having delivered my 3rd child here after having delivered my first two in Northern California, I will say this:

Take the less than positive reviews about labor and delivery at Pomona Valley Hospital seriously. They aren’t random.

The first set of staff I came across when I was admitted were polite and professional.

On all of my pregnancies, I have had intense late pregnancy itching to the point that I feel ants are attacking me all over my body due to eczema and how much my skin becomes dehydrated late in pregnancy.

I explained this to the nurses and they took hours to get my Obgyn to approve Benadryl and when they did it was right about the time the epidural had been administered maybe 1-2 hours after my water broke at the hospital.

The anesthesiologist had a horrible method of applying the epidural. As one other patient here has noted in the reviews, he injected it into 3 separate spots along my spine, which seemed odd to me. Thereafter, he started taping my entire back area in what felt like duct tape to which I objected due to intense itching. The tape, per my wishes, was removed.

Afterwards, I was given the Benadryl.

I fell asleep and shortly thereafter, I woke up feeling like I had been thrown in a body bag or buried alive in a motionless claustrophobic state with my neck and shoulder muscles intensely tight and tensed up.

I felt pressure breathing and began to panic. The nurses assured me that I was not deoxygenated and that my heart was beating fine.

Because of how I felt and the crying and panic, the one that had stayed with me the longest literally asked if I was “on drugs” because I had been fidgeting all night and that I probably had mental problems I should tell my OBGYN about for postpartum reasons!!!!!!!!

I was bringing myself up and jumping out of my skin due to feeling confined to a tight spot without the ability to move.

So my epidural was simply turned off.

I felt the full extent and pain of all the contractions for 30 minutes to an hour until I delivered an 8 pound, 9 ounce baby naturally with all the pain.

This was overall a horrible experience with only the happy ending that it all ended just fine.

I had the pleasure of having Kristy as my nurse, and I cannot express enough gratitude for her excellent care. Her knowledge and expertise were evident as she guided me through each step and answered my questions. She also went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and well-being, anticipating my needs. I cannot imagine having gone through such an intense experience without her by my side. I am grateful for her care and highly recommend her to any expectant mother. She is the BEST nurse I've ever seen.

Out of the two deliveries we've had here at Pomona Valley I cannot express the gratitude and appreciation I have for all of the staff here. Amazing teams of doctors and nurses that always ensure you know what and when everything is happening thought the entire process. I am posting because I read some harsh reviews and I want the team here to be recognized for the amazing unit they have created. All the way from parenting, Lamaze, breastfeeding, child rearing classes to ensuring each and every parent is sent home learning infant CPR and ensuring not only that your car seat is installed properly but that you are latching your baby in correctly. Absolutely astounding job team!!!

Edit: Dr. Mystery in the NICU department should not be practicing medicine as his bedside manner is absolutely deplorable. He barged in my wife's room at 3am and demanded that we sign a release for a spinal tap on my newborn son. When we refused he said that if our baby dies then that's on us and we are killing our child by not doing the test. At the change of shift we met with a new doctor and he informed us that the test was absolutely unnecessary. We informed the admins of this doctor and I am surprised that he is allowed to deal with such fragile patients and their guardians. I have spoken to other parents that have had the unfortunate opportunity to have to deal with Dr. Mystery and I am absolutely astounded that the staff has yet to reprimand or terminate this aggressive and overreaching individual. I fully believe that this is a one off case as NONE of the other doctors I have had the pleasure of dealing with have acted in this manner. I hope this gives anyone reading this an accurate account of what is happening in this women's center.

I gave birth to my daughter 7 years ago at this hospital and still until this day I can't stop thinking about my traumatic birthing experience.
I wanted to have a natural birth without pain medication. It was something I wanted to experience as a mother.
The nurse was extremely mean to me and very annoyed at my crying.
When it came time to have my daughter, I was pushing because that's what my body was telling me to do. The nurse yelled at me to stop pushing, but it wasn't on purpose and she also allowed about 10 students in the room without my permission. I never signed a form to allow the students in. I thought they were other nurses. I was in labor and they took advantage of me while I was in pain and delivering my daughter. So many years have passed and to know that I will be talked about around dinner tables or to friends about how they first saw a woman give birth. I cry all the time because this is not fair at all to be taken advantage like that.

⚠️The nurses were flirting with the anesthesiologist while he was doing my epidural. Two hours later i started to feel very badly. Got a fever and a oxygen mask on . After my delivery the nurses just left the room and left me there. They didn’t even clean up. They didn’t change the dirty pad that I was laying on. A 10 minutes later a older nurse (brown uniform) came in and was mad that the nurse didn’t clean or help me get up from the bed and use the restroom. She help me use the bathroom, put on those big mesh underwear with pads, changed the bedding . She as super helpful. My daughter had to wear a splint for a few days cuz they had to put an IV on her so they can inject antibiotics just incase ,since I got a fever cuz someone didn’t do my epidural right!!
